According to a report from the Wrap, Zendaya will be playing the iconic role of Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming. So of course, there’s a racist backlash — and some wise folks firing back at that nonsense. Interestingly, Zendaya’s Mary Jane is set to be unlike any previous iteration of the character — and not just because of her skin color.
